China has moved military and construction equipment to the Indian border where skirmishes have been taking place, which may indicate that they are planning to build long-term defenses there.
Satellite images showed at least 16 tanks as well as infantry combat vehicles, excavator machines and dump trucks, all on the China side of the border.
China also has 5,000 troops deployed at the border, while India has 10-12,000 troops ready on its side of the border.
Both sides are on high alert, with a top Indian official saying the next 72 hours are critical to see if China stands down or continues their push.
President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he would mediate the border standoff if both parties agreed to let him do so.
