After more than a month of claiming that there were no new cases of coronavirus in Wuhan, China has reported the first new cases there and in the Hubei province.
There were six new cases in Wuhan within a few days, all in one small area, and all older people, AFP reported.
A Chinese newspaper in the area said that the Chinese Communist Party head in the area, Zhang Yuxin, was fired for failing to contain the virus even though there were so few new cases.
The northeastern city of Shulan also reported 14 new cases and was said to be in “wartime” mode.
Of course, China is obviously underreporting its numbers as it has been from the beginning and likely has at least thousands of cases rather than just a few.
