Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi would like to think that they have the power to stop President Trump from building a wall to protect America’s borders. They’re wrong.
President Trump just announced that he’s awarded a contract to build a 115-mile stretch of wall in Texas. Breitbart reports:
President Donald Trump claims he has awarded a contract to construct 115 miles of border wall in Texas as a partial government shutdown over the U.S.-Mexico border wall extends into Christmas Eve.
“I am in the Oval Office & just gave out a 115-mile long contract for another large section of the Wall in Texas,” President Trump tweeted. “We are already building and renovating many miles of Wall, some complete. Democrats must end Shutdown and finish funding. Billions of Dollars, & lives, will be saved!”
It’s not the full wall, but it’s a big start. Some Trump supporters have suggested that Trump fund the entire wall through the military budget, or by using other departmental funds.
Schumer and Pelosi are posturing hard, but against a determined opponent like Trump, their chances of victory are beginning to look vanishingly slim.
