Attorney General Bill Barr made a stop in Virginia to support a “Back the Blue” rally in front of a Virginia police precinct.
Barr was traveling through the area when he spotted the group and said, “Can we make a quick u-turn? I want to jump out and thank those people.”
The gesture was an important one signaling Barr’s awareness of the ongoing ground war between Americans and radical groups seeking to undermine and defund police departments nationwide.
Since the death of George Floyd in police custody, the nation has been gripped by riots, protests, and general social unrest.
A big part of the protests and riots were focused on demonizing all police officers around the nation. Barr has made it clear that he stands against that narrative in all forms.
Barr and other government officials have a responsibility to support law and order and those who uphold law and order. The unrest that has gripped the nation is beyond unacceptable.
