Attorney General William Barr just received some bad news. President Donald Trump has confirmed the rumors publicly and people are stunned.
“A big disappointment!” tweeted Trump in response to a comment by conservative radio host Todd Starnes. In his tweet, Starnes said that if Barr “knew in the spring about the Biden investigation and kept it quiet — he should be fired by the end of business today.”
About an hour later, Trump followed up with another tweet: “Why didn’t Bill Barr reveal the truth to the public, before the Election, about Hunter Biden. Joe was lying on the debate stage that nothing was wrong, or going on – Press confirmed.”
He also called the end result a “big disadvantage for Republicans at the polls,” and he is right. In fact, a recent survey found that a significant number of Joe Biden voters would not have voted for him if they knew about Hunter’s scandal.
The American people always deserve the truth, especially during an election year. Withholding the information that Hunter has been under investigation was a mistake — a rare one made by Barr who has otherwise been a great AG.
Had Barr revealed this information, he would have been accused by Democrats of trying to affect the election’s outcome. But staying silent has ultimately done the same thing and the truth matters more than perception.
