Attorney General William Barr and the Department of Justice (DOJ) just exploded Google. What has been revealed about the search giant will have Americans demanding answers and accountability.
“The recent landmark antitrust lawsuit from the Justice Department claims that Google paid mobile carriers $1 billion last year to continue its monopolistic dominance of searches completed on America’s smartphones,” reported Breitbart News.
Furthermore, the DOJ lawsuit “outlines multiple methods Google uses to make its search engine the default service on browsers, smartphones, and other tech platforms,” continued Breitbart.
This controversy has been brewing for months now. Google stands accused of cherry-picking search results instead of allowing for an open-ended algorithm, which would encourage an online ecosystem of diverse information.
Interestingly enough, Breibart itself has been on the losing end of Google’s alleged search monopoly, with organic search results for the alternative news site dropping dramatically over the past year. Many do not believe this is by coincidence.
With the lawsuit and subsequent investigation moving forward, it will be interesting to see what the DOJ turns up. But one thing is certain: Big Tech has become a massive threat to free speech, especially for those who happen to be conservative.
