GOP Reps. Claudia Tenney (R-NY), Ronny Jackson (R-TX), Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ), Pete Sessions (R-TX), and Yvette Herrell (NM) sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) saying that President Joe Biden should be impeached and removed from office for leaving hundreds of people in Afghanistan when the military left the country last month.
“The American people must have full confidence in their Commander in Chief’s judgment and ability to protect our country and respond decisively to national security threats,” they wrote to Pelosi. “We have no confidence in President Joseph R. Biden’s ability to carry out his duties as Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Armed Forces.”
The House members added that thousand more are in “grave peril” because of Biden’s decisions, and that Biden “continues to mishandle the deteriorating situation at every step” while refusing to take responsiblity for his actions. They also said he lied to the media and the American people about the situation.
“As members of Congress, we have the duty to oversee the Executive Branch and provide for the common defense of the United States of America,” the letter concluded. “It is after much consideration and with heavy hearts at the current state of our nation that we call upon you, Speaker of the House of Representatives, to begin impeachment proceedings immediately.”
Of course, Pelosi will not move to impeach Biden because it would also hurt her own power in the party, but at least it’s in front of her and she has to deal with it.
