Presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden told reporters Tuesday that he would not release a list of possible Supreme Court nominees even though President Donald Trump has said he would do so in preparation for a second term.
“One thing I hesitate to do is follow anything the President does at all because he usually does it all wrong,” Biden said.
Biden did say he was making a list of “African-American women” who could serve on the court and that he might release a list at an undetermined date when they had been vetted more.
Trump promised to release his list by September 1, promising that any nominee he chooses would be from the list.
Given the fact that Chief Justice John Roberts seems to have moved rapidly to the left, another conservative Supreme Court justice or two would be a welcome development.
