A new Politico-Morning Consult poll showed that more registered voters believed that President Donald Trump could lead the country through the coronavirus pandemic better than presumptive Democrat nominee Joe Biden.
44% of voters thought Trump would be the better leader, while 36% thought Biden would lead through the crisis better.
The poll also showed that more voters thought former President Barack Obama would have been the best leader for these difficult times, with 52% saying they thought so.
Trump has led daily press conferences to communicate to the public about the government’s response to the virus. Meanwhile, Biden has been limited to awkward livestreams from his home and podcasts to communicate to his supporters.
The poll was conducted from April 3-5, before Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) dropped out of the race to make Biden the only viable candidate left on the Democrat side.
