Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden just lost it. His campaign is completely humiliated now and may not recover before the November 3 election. It could be over for him.
During a speech, Biden said that if “Donald Trump has his way, the complications from COVID-19, which are well beyond — what they should be. It’s estimated that 200 million people have died — probably by the time I — finish this talk.”
Breitbart News reported on the former vice president’s comments and included the awkward pauses for maximum effect, but one thing is certain: Biden has another gaffe on his record, and this one is a doozy.
Even with a teleprompter, Biden somehow landed on 200 million COVID-19 deaths — even though there are only 328.2 million people in the entire United States and deaths from the virus are estimated at just over 200,000.
Furthermore, even if he was addressing worldwide deaths, he wouldn’t have been anywhere close. John Hopkins University’s virus tracker currently estimates 963,068 deaths in total. Someone should tell Biden he was over 199 million off.
Considering Biden invoked Trump’s name, however, he was clearly claiming that the U.S. has experienced 200 million deaths. Democratic Party insiders are probably experiencing buyer’s remorse now, but it is too late. Biden is their candidate.
