President Joe Biden nominated a person to his cabinet who wrote a masters thesis about population control for environmental reasons.
Tracy Stone-Manning asked the University of Montana to block access to her thesis last year, but it was obtained by the media in June 2021.
Biden nominated her to lead the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), but it is unclear whether she has enough support from senators to be confirmed.
Her thesis was called, Into the heart of the beast | A case for environmental advertising, and advocated advertisements that asked people to stop at one or two children for the sake of the environment.
Her position is generally unpopular and somewhat extreme, which could make her one of only a few Biden nominees that might not be confirmed in a 50-50 Senate.
