Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on President Joe Biden to visit Ukraine and seemed fairly confident that the time is right for Biden to make a visit.
During an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, Anchor Jake Tapper asked Zelensky, “Do you want President Biden to come here?”
Zelensky responded with an emphatic “Yes,” and later said that he believes President Biden won’t turn down his invitation.
Zelensky continued saying, “I think he will. But it’s his decision, of course, and about the safety situation, it depends. But I think he’s the leader of the United States, and that’s why he should come here to see.”
The situation in Ukraine is dire and much of the country has been affected by fierce fighting as Ukraine holds off the ever-growing invasion force. Keeping President Biden safe in war-torn Ukraine is at the forefront of everyone’s minds.
Ukraine has impressed many with its ability to stop the Russian invasion and as a result, Russia is looking like much less of a threat militarily. Of course, the war is far from over, and a lot could go wrong for Ukraine and President Zelensky.
