Presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden has pushed back his timeline for choosing a running mate, an apparent signal from his campaign that none of the candidates they are currently considering has been deemed acceptable.
Biden had previously said he would make his choice by August 1, but has now backed off from that date.
“I can’t guarantee you August 1, but it will be in early August before, several weeks before the convention, I believe,” Biden said.
The requirements for the position are rather high: female, probably African-American, not too radical, able to energize the Democrat party, and ready to be president on Day 1.
I guess the campaign doesn’t think Kamala Harris, Karen Bass, or Stacy Abrams fit those requirements, but I don’t know who else would at this point.
