Attorney General William Barr just ended it and millions of Americans are shocked. The chatter in Washingon and across the nation has been completely shut down with one statement.
“Addressing Beltway rumors: The Attorney General has no plans to resign,” tweeted Kerri Kupec, Barr’s spokeswoman and the Department of Justice’s director of communications.
To recap: Shortly after the DOJ intervened in Roger Stone’s case — overruling the prosecutors and recommending a lighter sentence for Stone — Democrats lost their minds.
They were especially incensed because President Trump commented on the “injustice” of the case, prompting them to accuse Barr of kowtowing to the president and “politicizing” the DOJ.
However, the DOJ had chosen to intervene before Trump’s comments — the decision just hadn’t been announced yet. Of course, Democrats have never let facts get in the way of a juicy narrative.
Now, in what appears to be a politically orchestrated stunt, over 2,000 former DOJ employees have signed a petition calling for Barr’s resignation. But the attorney general isn’t going anywhere.
