In a briefing on Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that President Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama speak regularly and have been friends since they served together during Obama’s presidency.
“They share a bond of serving through eight years of the Obama-Biden administration, but also personal friendship and kinship,” she said.
Psaki wouldn’t give any details about the nature or content of their conversations.
Biden often praises Obama and rarely criticizes him. While celebrating the anniversary of Obamacare, he described Obama as “one of the most successful Presidents in recent American history.”
In a rare criticism, he hinted that Obama had not done enough to tout the success of his own stimulus package after the recession of 2008-9.
