The autopsy was just revealed and George Floyd’s family is in shock. The evidence represents a major reversal from the previous report, and now the situation has become even more controversial.
The Floyd family’s autopsy of George Floyd has revealed that he “died of asphyxiation due to neck and back compression,” however, the official autopsy did not support this conclusion — even though it identified several factors.
“That autopsy included the effects of being restrained, along with underlying health issues and potential intoxicants in Floyd’s system, but also said it found nothing ‘to support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia,'” noted Breitbart.
Even so, authorities probing Floyd’s death have presumably found a way to rectify these reports, perhaps with additional information. Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin’s charge has been upgraded to second-degree murder.
Additionally, the three other officers with Chauvin at the time — Tou Thao, Thomas Lane, and Alexander Kueng — have been charged “with aiding and abetting murder,” according to NBC News at the time of the announcement.
Floyd’s death shocked the nation as the video of his arrest went viral. Chauvin can be seen kneeling on Floyd’s neck while he reportedly tells the officer he can’t breathe. Chauvin reportedly continued for approximately eight minutes.
