Former U.S. Attorney General William Barr stunned Americans by claiming that whoever leaked the Supreme Court draft decision to overturn Roe v. Wade should be locked up.
The leaking of the draft opinion on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization sent the nation into chaos as leftists went ballistic with everything from protests to death threats being directed at the Justices of the court.
During an interview on “The Guy Benson Show” on Friday, Barr said, “Well, confidentiality is critical to the functioning of the judiciary. They need to be able to have, you know, discourse within the court in deciding the case and make sure that it’s kept confidential until an opinion comes out. And so this was an obstruction of the judicial process. It was an interference in the due administration of justice.”
The leaking of the draft was, without a doubt, wholly unprecedented and was done with the intent to intimidate the Supreme Court into reversing course.
Barr continued saying, “And so I think ultimately it belongs in the criminal justice side of things. And the person who did this should go to jail. Now, there could be some preliminary review of this thing to see if they can figure out quickly who it is and then turn it over to the Department of Justice for prosecution.”
The list of people who could have leaked the draft isn’t very long, and it is simply a matter of time before that person is found. The only thing that remains to be seen is if President Biden’s Department of Justice will prosecute the individual who undermined the Supreme Court.
