After former Donald Trump aide Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony before the January committee was exposed as likely untrue, according to Secret Service agents who were there during the incident in question, her lawyer defended her testimony as “second-hand knowledge.”
“Ms. Hutchinson testified, under oath, and recounted what she was told,” Jody Hunt wrote. “Those with knowledge of the episode also should testify under oath.”
Hunt had been a DOJ official under Trump before representing Hutchinson.
Hutchinson testified that Trump tried to grab the wheel of the presidential limousine so he could go to the Capitol against Secret Service members’ directives on January 6.
Two Secret Service members said after her testimony that he had not tried to grab the wheel, and said they would be willing to testify to what actually happened.
