Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is calling it quits on any negotiation with Republicans and is launching herself into campaigning in Georgia to try and win the runoff elections on January 5th for Democrats.
Democrat candidates Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock are working to beat Senator David Perdue (R-GA) and Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) in a runoff that will decide the Senate majority.
During an interview with CNN’S Jake Tapper, Ocasio-Cortez said, “I’m going to be spending my next couple of months doing everything that I can to extend help and offer support to the work of fantastic leaders that we just heard from like Stacey Abrams to make sure that we don’t have a Republican Senate majority, that we win these races in Georgia, that we secure a Democratic Senate majority so that we don’t have to negotiate in that way.”
Democrats want to take the Senate so that if Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden is the winner, he will have a Democrat House and Senate.
A Democrat-controlled legislature, in combination with a Democrat-controlled executive branch, would be a disaster for America and allow them to ram through legislation that would not be in the interest of the American people.
Hopefully, Republicans will hold the Democrat tide back and maintain control of the Senate until the next election in 2022.
