Freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just received some unexpected and devastating news.
According to a recent Gallup poll, more American voters view AOC negatively than they did before her shocking upset victory over incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley.
Ocasio-Cortez was initially viewed as an up-n-coming progressive mover and shaker until her unrelentingly outrageous comments started catching up with her.
In a September poll, 26 percent of respondents held a “negative view” of Ocasio-Cortez. By 2019, after she was sworn in, 41 percent of respondents reported a dislike of the New York Democrat.
Ocasio-Cortez may brush off the recent drop in approval ratings as angry Republican grousing, but the polls show that she’s also losing independents.
AOC may not realize it yet, but as Gallup notes, “given the national platform she’s attained, her ratings may matter more as her career progresses, and as she attempts to pass sweeping legislation like the New Green Deal”
