The New York Post is calling for New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to release the timeline of his book deal so that it can be determined whether he financially benefitted from the withholding of correct nursing home data from state officials and the Trump administration.
American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic was a bestselling book when it was released in October, but now the paperback version has been canceled and publicity has stopped.
Media reports said that Cuomo got a seven-figure book advance as part of the deal, which would amount to millions of dollars that would have been at stake if the true number of nursing home deaths had been known at the time.
Cuomo even tried to blame Trump for the order that put COVID-positive nursing home residents back into nursing homes, but that allegation was false.
He should face criminal charges if it turns out he lied to preserve his book advance even though he was responsible for thousands of unnecessary COVID-19 deaths.
