New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) was just nailed. An investigation is officially underway — and there’s no telling what could happen next.
Assemblymember Charles Levine, a Democrat who chairs the New York State Assembly Judiciary Committee, said that we’re looking at “months, rather than weeks” to investigate Cuomo.
Levine said that this time will be taken to “assess whether there’s evidence that the governor has engaged in conduct that justifies articles of impeachment,” something Cuomo is terrified about.
And you an elected official is in trouble when he or she is referred to as “embattled” in the press, and this label has been used to described Cuomo for several days now. He cannot escape what’s coming.
He will try, however. In spite of the numerous sexual harassment allegations — with at least one having photographic evidence — and the nursing home scandal, he is refusing to resign.
Cuomo’s covering up of nursing home deaths related to his disastrous handling of the COVID-19 pandemic should have been enough to impeach him, but justice appears to be on its way.
