New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) is coming under fire from the Times Up movement adding to an already rough start of 2021 for Governor Cuomo. The Times Up organization is calling for an investigation after allegations of sexual assault emerged against Cuomo.
Lindsey Boylan, Cuomo’s deputy secretary for economic development, alleged that Cuomo had “sexually harassed” her “for years.”
The abuse continued until Boylan sent in her resignation in 2018. Boylan said, “After that, my fears worsened. I came to work nauseous every day. My relationship with his senior team — mostly women — grew hostile after I started speaking up for myself. I was reprimanded and told to get in line by his top aides, but I could no longer ignore it. On September 26, 2018, I sent a mass email informing staff members of my resignation.”
Times Up foundation president and CEO Tina Tchen responded to the allegations saying, “Allegations of inappropriate behavior in any workplace are deeply troubling and should be addressed. We call on the Cuomo administration to conduct a full and independent investigation into these claims immediately.”
This is a surprising move for the Times Up organization. They already ignored credible allegations of sexual assault against President Joe Biden, and for them to target an important Democrat is shocking.
Cuomo is also facing the possibility of impeachment following revelations that his administration caused thousands of Covid-19 deaths in New York’s nursing homes. This time last year, Cuomo was one of the Democrat’s biggest stars, now he might be thrown out of office.
