Tragic news is spreading nationwide. An American hero was just confirmed dead and millions of people are in mourning. Please pray for the family of this fallen soldier.
According to reports, a recent roadside bombing in Afghanistan took the life of 33-year-old Michael Goble of New Jersey — a member of U.S. Special Forces who became a Green Beret in 2007.
“The Taliban claimed they were behind the fatal roadside bombing in northern Kunduz province,” reported the Daily Mail. The publication also that American deaths in Afghanistan have reached a total of 20 this year.
Goble was stationed at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. In a statement, Col. John W. Sannes said that Goble “was more than just a member of the 7th Special Forces Group, he was a brother to us.”
“We will honor our brother’s sacrifice and provide the best possible care to his family,” Sannes continued. He also asked Americans to keep his family and teammates in our prayers during this heartbreaking time.
Since the terror attacks on September 11, 2001, U.S. forces have maintained a presence in Afghanistan, though it has been drawn down over the years. President Trump plans to reduce our presence to 8,600, a drop of 4,000 troops.
