At least eight groups staged protests at Amazon on Black Friday, the pinnacle of the yearly shopping cycle.
One group called “Make Amazon Pay” held protests in Boston, New York, Dublin, London and other locations around the world. The group wants Amazon to pay “fair wages, its taxes, and for its impact on the planet.”
“Extinction Rebellion” is another environmental group that protested Amazon’s environmental footprint.
Jeff Bezos, who ran Amazon until recently, has championed environmental causes and given billions to a number of charities, but the company still has the perception of using too many resources and not being environmentally friendly.
But let’s be real: these groups are never going to be happy as long as Amazon exists and is successful.
