Actress and activist Alyssa Milano is getting criticism from conservatives for calling police on a squirrel hunter she saw near her property after calling for police to be defunded.
Milano called her critics “rightwing trolls” and claimed that her husband and neighbor called police Sunday morning after seeing a “gunman” behind her home and hearing gunshots.
At least Seven Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy vehicles, a police helicopter, and other law enforcement members responded to the call and searched for a “male, 40-years old, with long rifle” for hours.
All they found, though, was a teenage boy shooting squirrels.
Milano has spent months being critical of police and advocating for defunding them, but as soon as she felt threatened, she or family members were quick to call on them to help her and her family. Maybe she will rethink her stance after the scare, but I won’t hold my breath.
