BREAKING: Abortion Ban Announcement Rocks Congress [Read Details Here]

Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced that a national abortion ban could definitely happen should the Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade.

McConnell was asked during an interview with USA Today whether he supported a national ban, to which he replied, “All of this puts the cart before the horse. If the leaked opinion became the final opinion, legislative bodies – not only at the state level but at the federal level – certainly could legislate in that area.”

A national abortion ban is certainly the left’s worst nightmare, one that could very well come true should the Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade and Republicans win control in the legislative branch.

A leaked draft of an opinion overturning Roe v. Wade shows that the Supreme Court is seemingly deadset on making abortion rights a state-level issue.

The Republican Party is also on course to score a historic victory in this year’s midterm elections. Democrats are on the retreat in every state, and when all is said and done, Republicans will likely control both the House and the Senate.

Of course, it is possible that the Supreme Court could change its mind. However, it seems that the leaking of the draft decision has only hardened the Court’s stance on the issue. For the first time in decades, Republicans have a chance to score a massive victory that will have generational effects.
