Four Republican Senators decided to be absent when the chamber voted to defund all of President Joe Biden’s remaining vaccine mandates and caused their party to lose the vote 47-46.
Sens. Mitt Romney (R-UT), Jim Inhofe (R-OK), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and Richard Burr (R-NC) didn’t show up for the vote when Republicans could have had a majority due to Democrats having one of their party missing as he recovers from a stroke.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) put forward the amendment as part of a continuing resolution to fund the government and avoid a shutdown.
Sen. Chip Roy (R-TX) tweeted that there were no excuses for missing the vote, and encouraged accountability for the Republicans who missed the vote.
