Two dozen individuals have been arrested. It is finally happening — justice is being served and millions of people can breathe a sigh of relief, but there is still much work left to be done.
The world has watched in horror as massive brushfires have swept across Australia, and at least “twenty-four Australians … have been arrested since early November for intentionally setting” the blazes.
This provides at least some comfort to Australians dealing with the record level of brushfires. “More suspects are expected to be questioned in coming days,” reported the Sydney Morning Herald.
Even so, the devastation is more wide-ranging than many initially thought. Suspects are being rounded up, but the fires have continued to leave a path of destruction.
At least 23 people have been killed a result of the fires and hundreds of millions of animals are feared dead as well. To put it bluntly, Australia is in the midst of a major crisis.
Please pray for the people of Australia as they seek justice against the perpetrators, protect their families and homes, and work to preserve their resources and wildlife.
