A bombshell just dropped about the 2024 presidential candidate. The GOP never expected this to happen, but another candidate may jump in.
During an interview with the New York Post, anti-Trump lawmaker Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) — who voted to impeach Trump — signaled that she is considering a run for president.
“I’m not ruling anything in or out — I’ve been here a long time,” said Cheney. When she isn’t bashing Trump, she serves as chairwoman of the influential House Republican Conference (HRC).
A while back, a rift flared up between her and several conservative members of the House; they wanted Cheney to be ousted as chair of the HRC due to her vote to impeach Trump.
Cheney ended up keeping her position, however, the damage has already been done: Very few conservative votes trust her, including those in her home state of Wyoming.
“According to a memo outlining the results, 73 percent of Republican voters and 62 percent of all voters in Wyoming expressed an unfavorable view of the three-term congresswoman,” reported Politico concerning a poll conducted in January.
