Twelve more people were shot in Chicago over the weekend under the mayoral leadership of Lori Lightfoot (D).
One of the 12 was a police officer, who was shot in the hand while responding to a report of shots fired.
He’s going to be okay, but two of the 12 who were shot aren’t so lucky. An unidentified man was killed on Friday evening, and a 27-year-old on Saturday afternoon.
Up through March 15, 567 people have already been shot in Chicago this year. Shootings are reportedly up over last year.
This is what happens when you lock a population down for a year, while allowing protests to spin out of control if you think they’re justified. If that doesn’t condone violence, I don’t know what does.
