An impeachment bombshell just stunned the Democratic Party. Republicans are laughing — anti-Trump liberals never expected this to happen. They are playing defense now.
“The National Republican Senatorial Committee raised more than $10 million in January … as the Senate was adjudicating two articles of impeachment against President Trump,” reported the Washington Examiner.
Contrary to what Democrats hoped, the impeachment sham energized people nationwide to donate to the Senate GOP’s primary re-election fund. In contrast, the Democrats’ counterpart raised $1.5 million less.
The NRSC now has “a $25.2 million war chest to spend on the fall campaign,” and the fundraising will obviously continue for several more months. This, of course, doesn’t include what individual campaigns have raised.
For example, Senator Martha McSally (R-AZ), a top Trump ally, is being heavily targeted by Democrats, but a recent report shows that she raised more than $12 million in 2019 alone.
This fundraising haul for Senate Republicans is a good sign that they will have the resources to keep and possibly even expand their majority in the U.S. Senate. It is a bad scenario for Democrats.
