For some reason, Joe Biden still thinks that the American people are dumb enough to believe that inflation is being confined to a handful of products impacted by a supply chain shortage. That’s simply not true. Inflation is now undeniably widespread, penetrating all aspects of the American economy with numbers not seen in America in over thirty years.
The Consumer Price Index is up 7.5% compared with 12 months ago, the biggest jump in 40 years. The evidence, released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, suggests that it will be much harder to overcome than previously thought.
Biden and Psaki have continually warned Americans not to worry, but we finally have confirmation that their claims weren’t based in any sort of truth, but rather a desire to save their own hides.
“Let’s look at the reasons for the inflation,” Biden said on February 11 during an interview on NBC, “The reason for the inflation is the supply chains were cut off, meaning that the products — for example, automobiles, the lack of computer chips to be able to build those automobiles so they could function. They need those computer chips. They were not available. So, what happens? The number of cars were reduced — new cars reduced. It made up 1. — 1/3 the cost of inflation because the price of automobiles were up.”
Joe, a year ago you might have gotten some of us to believe you. Now, we know you’re a liar, and it’s time to give up the game.
