Russian President Vladimir Putin has been having his way with Joe Biden. Quite frankly, Joe’s really starting to look like a very weak man.
On February 21, the White House decided to allow Putin to continue with his shenanigans, announcing that Russian troops advancing into Ukraine would not trigger the sanctions prepared by America and our European allies.
Biden and his administration are in a difficult spot, as they’ve previously indicated that large numbers of troops crossing the Ukrainian border would be considered an invasion.
Seems like a pretty standard definition to me. I think that Putin would have a hard time convincing anyone that sending masses of armed troops over international boundaries in an effort to intimidate could be called anything but an invasion.
Hard time convincing anyone but Biden, that is.
“If any assembled Russian units move across the Ukrainian border, that is an invasion,” Biden said.
Except for this assembly of Russian units, apparently…
