Attorney General William Barr has made it official. He just dropped a bombshell about the U.S. Supreme Court, and even the White House is surprised. Barr is preparing to change the game completely.
According to reports, Barr has found a way around the recent Supreme Court ruling that prohibited the Trump Administration from adding a citizenship question on the 2020 census. He’s ready to move forward with a new strategy.
“I think over the next day or two you’ll see what approach we’re taking. And I think it does provide a pathway for getting the question on the census,” said Barr to reporters. One can only imagine what Democrats are thinking right now.
But Barr doesn’t mess around. Since being appointed by Trump and confirmed by the Senate, Barr has proven his worth with a strong legal mind and loyalty to the president. He should have been attorney general all along.
Barr’s statement comes after the DOJ announced key changes. “As will be reflected in filings tomorrow … the Department of Justice is shifting these matters to a new team of Civil Division lawyers going forward,” said DOJ spokeswoman Kerri Kupec.
This is exactly how the DOJ should be functioning, instead of constantly trying to obstruct the president at every turn. Obama’s DOJ launched a witch-hunt against Trump, and the DOJ run by Sessions was sadly not much better. Barr is doing it right.
