Millennial socialist darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just made an announcement about her possible run for president. But it wasn’t the one her supporters wanted to hear.
It all started when a writer for the left-wing website Vox wrote a piece arguing that the constitution should be amended so that Ocasio-Cortez, who is 29-years-old, can run for president. The constitution states that an individual must be at least 35 years old to run.
The piece garnered a groundswell of support among the hard left, who apparently aren’t bothered that Ocasio-Cortez, in addition to being young, apparently has zero grasp of American history, civics, or economics. But in perhaps in the only good decision of her political life, Ocasio-Cortez denounced the idea.
“How about… no,” she wrote. “Sometimes political media is too fixated on personalities instead of policies. The whole country JUST went through an exhausting midterm election. We need a break.”
