On Friday, President Donald Trump released a transcript of an earlier phone call he had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, one that took place before the July 25th phone call that has Democrats claiming he tried to “bribe” or “extort” Zelensky.
The earlier transcript contained nothing Democrats could use to accuse Trump of wrongdoing. Instead, the two leaders discussed visiting each others’ countries and Trump congratulated Zelensky on his recent election victory.
Trump spoke about Ukraine’s participation in his Miss Universe pageants when he ran them, and complimented the nation on its representation there.
Zelensky said he was working on his English so the two could speak the same language on future calls.
Democrats had been asking Trump to release more transcripts so they could see if any aid-for-investigation deals were mentioned.
