The media has been busy trying to stir up trouble between President Trump and the British royal family.
For the last few days, we’ve seen incessant coverage of the supposed feud between Trump and Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s wife.
Nevermind that the feud was started by Markle, and now appears wholly sustained by wishful thinking on the media’s part.
But here’s something the media doesn’t want to report on – the Brits are rolling out the red carpet for the Trump family, hosting them at not one, but TWO state dinners.
The Daily Mail, one of the few right-leaning British papers, reports:
President Donald Trump‘s adult children will get two dinners with the British royal family next week when they join the president and first lady Melania Trump on their five-day trip to Britain, France and Ireland.
Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Don Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Tiffany Trump will all participate in what a source close to the administration is calling the ‘family events’ during the trip.
That will include a lavish State Banquet at Buckingham Palace hosted by Queen Elizabeth II and a dinner at the U.S. ambassador’s home hosted by the president and first lady where Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will represent the queen.
While the constant media buzz surrounding the British royals can be tiresome, we have to give them credit for acknowledging the Anglo-American special relationship and formally honoring the president’s family.
