The 10 Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee have written a letter to Attorney General William Barr demanding that he recuse himself from all “Trump Ukraine matters” and accusing him of having “an appearance of conflict of interest” in them.
Barr’s name was mentioned multiple times during the July 25 phone call with Ukraine’s president, the transcript showed, which led Democrats to question whether Barr was involved in Trump’s dealings with Ukraine.
“We request that you recuse yourself and identify the appropriate official who will be responsible for these matters,” the letter reads. “We also request that you confirm whether you consulted Department ethics officials regarding recusal and provide copies of any ethics guidance that Justice Department officials have provided in connection with these matters.”
Three of the senators who signed the letter are current presidential candidates: Cory Booker (NJ) , Kamala Harris (CA), and Amy Klobuchar (MN).
How about this, Democrats? Barr will consider recusing himself when Speaker Pelosi removes Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) from presiding over impeachment in the House. I won’t hold my breath.
