A new poll by Marquette University Law School showed that a majority of registered voters in Wisconsin oppose the impeachment and removal from office of President Donald Trump.
53% said they opposed impeachment and removal, while only 40% supported it. The poll also showed Trump beating all top 2020 Democrat contenders, including Joe Biden, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Pete Buttigieg. The poll did say that Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) would beat Trump in a hypothetical matchup in the state, even though only three percent of those surveyed said they planned to vote for Booker.
42% thought Trump did something “seriously wrong” with Ukraine, while only 38 percent didn’t think he did anything wrong. Similarly, 41% thought Trump withheld aid to Ukraine in order to pressure the president there to investigate his political rivals, while 38 percent didn’t believe he did so.
55% thought Trump was doing a good job with the economy, while 40% disapproved.
It seems that even if people think Trump might have done something wrong while in office, the majority don’t think he should be impeached and removed for what he might have done.
