Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich offered his perspective on President Donald Trump’s recent visit to India, saying that the successful trip shows that Trump can have appeal around the world.
Democrats have liked to say that other world leaders look down on Trump and don’t take him seriously, but he was warmly welcomed in India and held a joint rally with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that drew 110,000 people.
The rally was called “Namaste Trump.” “I think the president has done a brilliant job of communicating again and again that he can go around the world,” Gingrich said on Fox News’s America’s Newsroom.
Trump announced at the rally a $3 billion deal to deliver military helicopters to India.
“Almost everywhere he goes the president is a salesman … Not bad for a day’s work,” Gingrich said about the deal.
