Attorney General William Barr just made his move, and the entire nation is in shock. President Trump’s enemies are terrified by Barr’s aggressive maneuver to drain the DC swamp.
According to reports, Barr has asked U.S. Attorney John Durham — who is leading the investigative effort to uncover the origins of the Trump-Russia conspiracy theory — to further expand his probe to “at least the spring of 2017.”
By widening the investigation to this time period, Barr and Durham can examine in more detail Robert Mueller’s appointment to lead the anti-Trump witch-hunt and former FBI Director James Comey’s leaks to the press.
As we already know, Barr and Durham are looking into alleged FISA abuses by top Obama Administration officials. A warrant was obtained from the FISA court to spy on then-Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos.
However, a transcript reportedly exists of Papadopoulos that Obama’s FBI did not include in their request to the FISA court. This transcript may have made it impossible for them to obtain the warrant in the first place.
Now, with the probe itself being expanded to include the circumstances surrounding Mueller’s appointment, there’s no telling what could be exposed. The Democrats aren’t going to get off the hook this time.
