As House Intelligence Committee chairman, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) has been a vocal supporter of Robert Mueller’s “collusion” investigation, but perhaps he should have been a little more careful himself.
According to reports, Schiff was spotted in Colorado last summer speaking with Glenn Simpson, the founder of Fusion GPS — the very firm behind the infamous and discredited dossier on Donald Trump.
As a recap, the Clinton campaign failed to effectively use the dossier against Trump during the 2016 election, despite their insistence early on that a nefarious connection existed between Trump and Russia.
This brings us back to Schiff and calls into question why he met with Simpson in the first place. If he is going to chase every possible rumor on Trump and call it “collusion,” shouldn’t the same standard be applied to him?
In an op-ed for the Washington Examiner, Trump ally Robert Wasinger wrote that Schiff’s “malleable definition of collusion could come back to haunt him. Because ‘collusion’ appears to be exactly what Schiff has been engaged in …”
Of course, expecting consistency from Schiff and his fellow Democrats is like trying to squeeze blood from a turnip. Liberals have two sets of rules: One for them and another for the rest of us. It’s up to Americans to hold them accountable.
