A bombshell just dropped about 2020, and it’s big news for President Trump. This dropout notice is shaking up DC and the upcoming race for the White House.
Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez is already sounding the alarm and trying to nudge low-performing candidates out, saying that some will soon need to “move on.”
“Over time, candidates who are not moving up in the polls are going to have to make judgments about when they believe it’s in their best interest to move on, but it’s not my place to tell them when,” said Perez.
Clearly, this is Perez’s diplomatic way of saying that if many candidates remain in the race and heavily divide the Democratic vote during the primary, it will be more difficult to unite around the eventual nominee.
Perez knows that it’s in the Democrats’ best interest to appear as united as possible. However, this may be a pipe dream, given that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi can’t even unite her own caucus.
The Democratic Party is split between liberal establishmentarians like Pelosi and far-left radicals such as Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). Trump, thankfully, stands to benefit from all of the infighting.
