Democrat donor Ed Buck is now a suspect in the drug overdose deaths of two men at his West Hollywood house in 2017 and January 2019 after he was arrested when a third man overdosed there last week. Buck has been charged with running a drug house, battery causing serious injury and providing methamphetamine.
Buck donated thousands to local political candidates and to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Prosecutors asked for $4 million bail, saying Buck was a suspect in the previous deaths and that he was a violent sexual predator who preyed on homosexual black men. “It is only a matter of time before another one of these vulnerable young men dies of an overdose,” they said.
A memo to the judge said that Buck “is not only facing the current filed charges, but he is also still a suspect in the deaths of Gemmel Moore and Timothy Dean.”
If Buck is convicted in the overdose last week, he faces up to 5 years and 8 months in state prison.
