Top Democrat Ordered To RESIGN – Career Over

The hashtag #ResignCastro trended on Twitter after Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-TX) published a list of Trump donors in the San Antonio area with their personal information on Twitter in an effort to shame them. Castro is the campaign manager for his brother Julian Castro, who is running for the 2020 Democrat presidential nomination.

Many on the social media platform said they thought Joaquin Castro should resign from Congress after he “doxxed” the donors. “Rep. Joaquin Castro is inciting violence against conservative voters. This dangerous, evil, and un-American. He must resign and be censured by the house,” Chris Kuennen said.

“2 lawmakers are using the power of their office to intimidate constituents. Shame on them,” Jacob Airey said. In another tweet, Airey said, “Wow, using the power of your office to threaten donors to a rival politician is beneath the office of Congress.” Others said Castro’s actions showed that he wasn’t representing all of his constituents equally and that they thought doxing should be a criminal offense.

Castro responded that the information was public and he wasn’t trying to get anyone to protest or threaten the donors, which is usually what happens after a doxxing. He also justified his actions by tweeting that Trump “put a target on the backs of millions.”

Joaquin Castro attempted to link the Trump donors to a “campaign of hate” after the mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas. It was later revealed that some of the donors also donated to Castro’s own campaign.
