Report: John Kelly OUT – Replacement Picked

According to a report from the Daily Mail, White House chief of staff John Kelly is expected to resign this week, and his replacement has already been named.

Nick Ayers, a 36-year-old prodigy who is currently chief of staff to Mike Pence, is expected to be Kelly’s replacement.

The Daily Mail reports:

A source familiar with the situation told DailyMail.com on Friday morning that a dinner at the White House in the evening for senior staff was supposed to serve as an appreciation event for Kelly and other departing senior officials.

‘They were trying to give John the out he deserved for his service to the country. That was the plan,’ the person said.

The news comes as CNN reported that Kelly is no longer on speaking terms with President Donald Trump.

John Kelly has served our country well, both as a soldier and a chief of staff. But if he can’t talk to the president, he can’t do his job.
