New Zealand Killer Confesses, Admits Why He Did It [Media Blackout]
By glossing over key details of the 74-page manifesto written by the self-described “ethno-nationalist” who masterminded the New Zealand mosque massacres, the media may be playing directly into the killer’s hands.
While journalists and politicians resort to the same tired “gun violence” and “far right white nationalist” talking points, only conservative media seems to have noticed that the perpetrator identifies as a socialist. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
In his manifesto, the killer explained that he chose to use guns because he knew they would earn “extra media coverage” and because he wanted to “fracture the US along cultural and racial lines.”
“With enough pressure the left wing within the United states will seek to abolish the second amendment, and the right wing within the US will see this as an attack on their very freedom and liberty,” he wrote.
“This attempted abolishment of rights by the left will result in a dramatic polarization of the people in the United States and eventually a fracturing of the US along cultural and racial lines.”
The New Zealand tragedy is a reminder that nationalism finds its true origin on the left side of the political spectrum. But left or right, political considerations should never eclipse true grief for the victims or true respect for their loved ones.
