Mueller Victim Comes Forward – Shares Tragic Story
The great tragedy of the Russia collusion probe was not the trouble it caused for President Trump, but what it did to less powerful targets like Trump’s friend and onetime adviser Michael Caputo.
Caputo, a political consultant from upstate New York, was never charged with a crime, but the investigation nearly broke him financially and emotionally.
Called to the witness stand by special counsel Robert Mueller’s heavily funded investigation, Caputo lost 75 percent of his PR clients and had to sell his house and even tap his children’s college fund to afford his legal fees and other expenses.
While Caputo feels “personally vindicated” by Mueller’s final report, he is still cleaning up the mess caused by what has turned out to be a politically motivated witch hunt.
“You look around and there’s a crater where your life used to be,” he said.
Caputo previously let his feelings be known to the Senate intelligence committee, saying, “What America needs is an investigation of the investigators… I want to know who cost us so much money, who crushed our kids, who forced us out of our home all because you lost an election.”
