Mike Pence Drops The Hammer… Entire World On Notice
Vice President Mike Pence has put the world on notice that Turkey must choose whose side it is truly on — NATO’s or Russia’s.
Concerned by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s effort to buy Russian anti-aircraft missile systems, Pence laid down an ultimatum.
“Turkey must choose: Does it want to remain a critical partner of the most successful military alliance in the history of the world?” Pence said.
“Or, does it want to risk the security of that partnership by making reckless decisions that undermine that alliance?”
Pence threatened that if Turkey follows through with its plan to purchase the Russian S-400 missile system, the U.S. will block access to NATO’s most advanced stealth fighter jet, the F-35.
This strict stance reinforces the popular image of Trump’s foreign policy as a deliberate reversal of the Obama administration’s habit of projecting weakness and capitulating to foreign interests.
